1. Scope
This Privacy Policy explains how Ovina ("Ovina," "we," "us," or "our") processes information when you use the Ovina iOS application and these related web pages.
Ovina is a creative tool for making keepsake tickets, cards, and badges from your photos and words. The app uses a local sign-in state; it does not ask you to create a password or authenticate against an Ovina account server.
2. Data we process
Local profile and settings
A locally generated user identifier, sign-in state and time, display name, optional profile field, avatar, agreement choice, and app preferences.
Creative content
Photos, camera captures, titles, subtitles, memos, template choices, text recognized from images, generated keepsakes, favorites, and export history.
Voice input
Microphone audio used for live dictation and the resulting transcription. Ovina does not intentionally save the raw recording.
Purchases and ink
App Store product identifiers, transaction identifiers used to prevent duplicate crediting, local ink balance, and a local earn/spend ledger.
Network data
When online features are used, service providers may automatically receive IP address, request timing, device or protocol metadata, and diagnostics needed to deliver the request.
Permission status
iOS manages camera, photo library, microphone, and speech permission status. Ovina also remembers locally whether it has already shown a permission request.
3. How we use data
We process information to:
- create, edit, generate, save, search, favorite, export, and delete keepsakes;
- provide image-to-text scanning and voice dictation when you request them;
- maintain your local profile, preferences, ink balance, and transaction history;
- complete App Store purchases and prevent the same transaction from being credited more than once;
- operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the requested feature; and
- comply with applicable legal obligations and enforce the Terms of Service.
Ovina does not include advertising SDKs in the current app implementation, does not use your creative content for targeted advertising, and does not sell your personal information for money.
4. When data leaves your device
| Feature | Data sent | Recipient and purpose |
|---|---|---|
| AI keepsake generation | A resized JPEG of the composed keepsake, plus template details and any title, subtitle, or memo you entered. | OpenRouter and the selected AI model provider, to generate the requested image. |
| Image text scanning | A resized JPEG of the selected image and an instruction to extract text. | OpenRouter and the selected AI model provider. If remote attempts fail, Ovina falls back to Apple's on-device Vision framework. |
| Voice dictation | Live microphone audio and transcription-related data. | Apple speech recognition services, subject to your device settings and Apple's privacy terms. |
| Ink purchase | Product selection, Apple transaction data, and payment information provided to Apple. | Apple processes the purchase. Ovina does not receive your full payment card details. |
| Save or share | The finished image and any metadata supplied by iOS. | The photo library, app, person, or service you choose through Apple's system interfaces. |
These providers process data under their own terms and privacy practices. Their retention, model operations, and processing locations are outside Ovina's direct control. Avoid entering sensitive information that is not needed for your keepsake.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect rights or safety, or as part of a business transfer, subject to applicable legal safeguards.
5. Device permissions
- Photos: select a source image and save a finished keepsake to your library.
- Camera: capture a new photo for a keepsake or profile image.
- Microphone: capture live audio while you use dictation.
- Speech recognition: convert dictation into text.
Permissions are requested when you use the relevant feature. You can change them at any time in iOS Settings. Denying a permission limits only the feature that needs it; you may continue using other available parts of Ovina.
6. Local storage and retention
Profile data, settings, keepsake records, generated images, favorites, ink balance, and the ink ledger are stored locally in Ovina's app container on your device. They remain there until you delete individual content, use the in-app account deletion flow, or remove app data through iOS. An iCloud or device backup may retain a copy according to your Apple backup settings.
Deleting your local account removes your local profile fields, avatar, keepsakes, favorites, settings, ink balance, and transaction ledger. Ovina preserves local first-use and credit-grant flags so the introductory grant cannot be repeatedly claimed. StoreKit transaction deduplication markers may also remain to prevent double delivery.
Information sent to Apple, OpenRouter, an AI model provider, or an export destination is subject to that provider's retention rules. Deleting local Ovina data does not automatically delete copies already sent to or stored by those providers.
7. Your choices and controls
- Edit your display name and avatar from the profile area.
- Delete an individual keepsake from its detail page.
- Remove favorites from your Wallet.
- Revoke camera, photo, microphone, or speech access in iOS Settings.
- Sign out to clear only the local session state while keeping creative data.
- Use Bench > Shred Account, type SHRED, and confirm to erase the local data described above.
- Uninstall Ovina to remove its local app container from the device, subject to Apple backup behavior.
Because Ovina does not operate a server-hosted user account in the current version, we generally cannot identify or remotely retrieve local app data for you. For a privacy question about information held by a third-party provider, you may also need to contact that provider directly.
8. Security
We use platform controls and reasonable technical measures designed to protect information. No device, transmission, storage method, or AI service can be guaranteed completely secure. Protect your device with an iOS passcode, keep iOS and Ovina updated, and avoid submitting highly sensitive information to online features.
9. Children's privacy
Ovina is not directed to children under 13, or a higher minimum age where local law requires it. We do not knowingly operate a server account system that collects personal information from children. A parent or guardian who believes a child has sent personal information through an online Ovina feature should use the App Support contact method on Ovina's App Store product page and may also contact the relevant service provider.
10. International processing
Apple, OpenRouter, and AI model providers may process information in countries other than the one where you live. Those countries may have different data protection laws. By choosing an online feature, you direct Ovina to transmit the data needed to provide it, subject to applicable law and the provider's safeguards.
11. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy when features, providers, or legal requirements change. The effective date at the top identifies the current version. Material changes may also be presented in the app or through another appropriate notice.
